Site Rules

Site Rules: Inactivity
Characters who are inactive in the forums for 30 days will be Archived, and any group that shares merits with that character (such as Haven, Herd, Pack Totem, pooled Resources, etc) will lose them. If players know they will have an extended absence from the game, they should inform an ST or Mod. Only by doing so can such merits be retained.

NOTE
Sex, while a part of normal life and some of our characters, does not belong on this site. The World of Darkness is a game of personal horror, not a smutfest of orgasms and heaving milky white bosoms. If you so desire to engage in sexual relations, please do so off this website over IM. We do not want cybersex in our game, or chat.

If you want cybersex, there are many websites specifically for such activity. This is not one of those sites. We are here to roleplay being monsters. Staff can and does see everything that happens in the chat.

Sexually graphic writing or scenes will result in a knock on the Player Penalty System, for both participants. Rape will result in an immediate site-ban for the abuser.

Site Rules: Creating Rituals
This is something we are going to play by ear. We are going to allow characters to create their own rituals, however, there are a few limitations. You may not create a new ritual until you have bought all of rituals for that level. Meaning, once you have acquired all the rituals of that level that are presented in ALL Requiem supplements (including the corebook), then you may create your own. The acceptance of your ritual will be at the sole discretion of the Storyteller or Moderator and subject to review by the Administrator.

Sorceries (Crúac and Theban): You need to 'cast' (e.g. chant, perform a sacrifice, etc) for the minimum number of full turns, and then make your sorcery/Crúac/ritual draw. For instance on a Ritual that takes a minimum of 3 turns, after having used three full turns (requiring three Instant Actions, which take a full turn each) then a draw would be made. The number of successes on that sorcery/Crúac/ritual draw represents the number of successes that the ritual (or power) is activated with.

If a power has a required minimum number of successes, and if that number of successes hasn't been reached after three turns of 'casting' (i.e. if the user doesn't have enough successes), then the caster can continue to cast (for another 3 turns) and make another draw, adding those successes, and so on.

If the required number of successes is reached at any point, then the ritual goes into effect right then (with a number of successes accumulated until then). This means that a caster can't reach the required number of successes and then continue casting to accumulate more successes for more 'ooomph' to the ritual. Failing to reach a single success on the sorcery/Crúac/ritual draw doesn't cause the power to fail, as per the normal Extended Actions rule. You may of course choose to end the ritual or sorcery at any time during its casting, in which case, nothing happens. Willpower or Blood needed to activate the Ritual are spent at the end of the Casting - when all successes have been gained.

Devotions: Writers are allowed to create their own UNIQUE Devotions, which must be submitted to the ST for Review and Approval.
